Mouthpieces
Interview with Alex Kuciw (Director / Writer) and Greg Moller (Writer /IBS Sufferer), the creative minds behind Mouthpieces
Q: Where did the idea for this series come from?
Alex: I knew I needed to pitch a series to hmTV that would be cheap to do and have a neat visual ‘hook‘. But in all honestly, I snapped some cell phone pics inside a toilet stall at the ‘Maryland House‘ somewhere along the NJ Turnpike. The whole entire concept was written there for everyone to see; I just got to it first I guess.
Q: Why is there so much profane language in these webisodes? Has the FCC been in contact with you yet?
Greg: F*&k you, fu*!nuts. What are you, a f$ck!ng narc?!? Next question!
Q: Mouthpieces really focuses on mouths. Was poor dental hygiene ever an problem?
Alex: I had a licensed dentist at every casting session to try and weed out any problems before they could occur.
Greg: Only my own, and that’s because I attempted to orally greet a few of the actors without using mouthwash first.
Q: The newest webisode, “The Bitter Truth”, makes a profound statement about life in the 21st century. What are the implications of some of the other films in the series?
Alex: Well, “Password” is about a white collar loser with a bridezilla all up in his shit.
Greg: And “Porn Queen” is about breasts…really big breasts.
Q: Do you have plans for any future projects?
Alex: We wrote a ton of these webisodes, so right now I'm hoping that some company will want to make more Mouthpieces for, let's say, distribution on their mobile phones.
Greg: I'm planning on suing the first company that tries to rip off our idea. Ad agencies take heed…
